Interact with the ring around the chest, then use Bless on the ring to deactivate the curse, you will then meet Captain Sech Zapor.

Once players have the Soul Jar, they should remove the curse on the chest by using the Bless spell. This will cause Captain Sech Zapor to spawn. Players can trade the Soul Jar for the Captain's Charismatic Coat, the first of the armor set which is the goal of Threads of a Curse.

There is no spell book for this spell. In order to learn this skill, you need to swear fealty to the God King by talking to a Voidwoken on the Nameless Isle. The Curse skill will replace Bless and you will not have an opportunity to learn Bless again while you remain in the God King's service.

It is recommended that you combine the hair or tuft of cat fur with a spinning wheel to get the most thread possible. While you can also make thread by combining two hair or two tufts of cat fur, you can get twice as much thread out of the same material if you use a spinning wheel.

The Cursed Chest is an item that spawns in the Graveyard. (spawning randomly each chunk.) Alternatively, the Cursed Chest can be crafted with 4 Ectoplasm dropped by Ghosts (Ghosts that only come from Graveyard Soil or Dead Players) surrounding a normal chest. The Cursed Chest has a very distinctive and notable look.

While doing the quest The Vault of Braccus Rex the player will come across the Band of Braccus during the second encounter with Trompdoy and his illusions. Put it on to continue the quest and it'll curse the player. The player can remove the ring, but the curse will remain until the player uses Bless on themselves.

To close this quest, have a character equip the cursed ring and then cast Bless on that character to remove the curse.
